About Us
Helping Children Build Money Skills for Life
Welcome to kids.draftswork.shop, operated by Draftsworks.
Our mission is simple: Helping parents teach children practical money skills that schools often overlook.
We offer digital educational resources for children aged 5 to 17, helping parents introduce money concepts through stories, simple explanations and everyday examples.
Why We Started
Money plays a role in almost every stage of life. Yet many children grow up with little opportunity to learn how to save, plan their spending or understand basic financial terms.
We started because we believe financial understanding is one of the most important life skills—and learning it should begin early.
A pocket-money decision, a savings goal or a conversation about buying a toy can become a useful lesson. Our aim is to give parents resources that make these conversations easier and more meaningful.
What Children Can Explore
Our educational materials introduce topics such as:
- Saving and budgeting: Planning how to use money and working towards a savings goal.
- Needs versus wants: Understanding the difference between essentials and things we would like to have.
- Investing basics: Exploring how investing works, including the importance of patience and understanding risk.
- Financial terminology: Becoming familiar with money-related words through accessible explanations.
- Money stories: Discovering lessons about choices, responsibility and planning through storytelling.
- Everyday financial decisions: Connecting money concepts with situations children recognise.
Our Approach to Learning
We aim to make finance approachable through clear language, relatable stories and practical examples.
Children aged 5 and 17 learn differently. Parents can choose topics that suit their child’s age and understanding, explain unfamiliar ideas and revisit lessons as their child grows.
For younger children, the starting point may be saving coins or recognising needs and wants. Older children can explore budgeting, financial terminology and introductory investing concepts in greater depth.
Supporting Parents Along the Way
You do not need to be a finance expert to start teaching your child about money.
Our resources are intended to support learning together—reading a story, discussing a choice or setting a small savings goal. These conversations give children opportunities to ask questions and practise making thoughtful decisions.
Our digital products are delivered by email, allowing families to access them and learn at their own pace.
Our Purpose
We want to help younger generations become more comfortable talking about money and more thoughtful about how they use it.
Our goal is to help children build understanding, confidence and responsible money habits they can develop throughout life.
Our materials are for educational purposes. They do not provide personalised financial or investment advice or promise financial results.
